May 8th – Saint Stanislov day. Onion planting day

79

Our ancestors considered this day the best day to plant onions and sow peas. In order for the onions to be good, they were planted when the sun and the moon were not together in the sky – that is, either early in the morning, before the sun has risen, or late in the evening, when the moon has not yet appeared. On this day, beekeepers used to guess how much honey this year would bring. If the day is clear, sunny – there will be a lot of honey, if it is cloudy – not much.
